A NATIONAL supermarket chain has gained permission to change its delivery hours at its proposed new store in Holmes Chapel

Sainsbury's wanted permission to alter its delivery hours for the proposed store on London Road from the agreed 8am to 6am.

Its case was heard at the meeting of Cheshire East Council's Southern Planning committee on Wednesday, February 25.

The committee approved the plans and Sainsbury's has told the Guardian that it was 'continuing to review its plans for the store'.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “We welcome the council’s decision to lift the restriction on deliveries, and are continuing to review our plans for a new store.

“Once we are in a position to do so, we will update people on our future plans.”

The new store, which will be located on the former Fisons site on London Road, will provide 260 car parking spaces, a recycling centre and petrol filling station – creating up to 175 new full and part-time jobs.
