CREATIVE art students at Sir John Deane’s College have seen their work go on public display in one of Knutsford’s most iconic buildings.

The Old Town Hall, which is on the corner of Princess Street and Church Hill and owned by Monckton Properties Ltd, part of the Tatton Estate, is currently home to more than 20 pieces of work by current and recent A2 Art and Design students from the college.

The exhibition, which runs until January 16, includes original portraits and landscape studies across a range of genres. It is, for many of the students, the first time their work has been exhibited outside of the college.

Andy Marshall, head of Art and Design at Sir John Deane’s College, said: “We have some extremely talented students who ultimately study at some of the most prestigious universities in the country. This small exhibition enables us to showcase just some of that talent.

“We are delighted that the Tatton Estate has allowed us to use a building which is well known for its stunning architecture and in such a prime location within the town. We would urge anyone who has the opportunity to view the work before the exhibition closes in a few weeks time.”

A spokesperson for the Tatton Estate said: “We are delighted to host the Sir John Deane’s college art exhibition, and are thrilled that students are getting the opportunity to display their impressive artwork.”

The exhibition will run until Friday, January 16.
