IT is a scene straight out of an Edwardian storybook – a beautifully dressed family out for an afternoon stroll in the quiet and leafy country lanes.
Today the road appears somewhat different, but can you guess where it is?
Knutsford resident Mary Gracie sent the Guardian this old postcard of Bexton Road in Knutsford, which she has been in her possession for some time.
“Because there are no buildings in it, just the name Bexton Road, it wasn’t easy to pinpoint the actual location,” she said.
“However, I thought the contours in the distance might help and took the accompanying, modern picture from the corner where Bexton Road joins Blackhill Lane, looking back towards the town.
“You will agree it looks like the same slight rise in the road.”
