CUSTOMERS were queuing out the door to get a glimpse of a revamped Knutsford food store last week.

The Co-operative Food Store, on Parkgate Lane, closed earlier this month for a £380,000 refurb and the new-look store reopened to the public on Thursday, November 20.

As well as getting a makeover, the store now stocks a wider range of products and benefits from a new in-store bakery.

Paul Ruscoe, store manager, said: “We were very, very busy for the first few days – we are quite a busy shop anyway, being right at the end of the estate. On Thursday, we opened a couple of hours later than we usually do and we had customers queuing out the door.

“The main change is the bakery, as we didn’t have one before, and there has also been a massive change to the range in general, there are lots of new products. All the customers have commented on how good it looks – it has had a lot of money spent on it and it looks the part.”

The store is open seven days a week, 6am-11pm daily.
