KIND-HEARTED pupils from Bexton Primary School have been learning the value of ethical living through a new enterprising project.

As part of the recently-launched Ethical Enterprise project, the school revamped its house point system so that every time a child earns a ‘house point’ it has a small value that goes towards a charity.

Four main charities have been selected to benefit from the project; The Royal British Legion, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT), Lower Moss Wood and Little Big Africa.

Assistant Head Jill Sach said: “They are a mixture of charities from local to global and causes that we think are close to the children's hearts. We are also using this project in our curriculum so the children can learn more about each charity and the work it does.

“We really think it brings to life our school motto 'Together we make a difference'. We are raising the money to fund the project through cake sales, dressing up days and other fundraising activities.”

The Royal British Legion representative Glyn Roberts visited the school on Remembrance Day where he accepted a cheque for £915 on behalf of the service charity, which was raised through the Ethical Enterprise project and the school’s annual poppy appeal.
