STUDENTS from the new Studio at Knutsford school got their first taste of the world of work last week thanks to the town’s businesses.

More than 60 students completed a week of work experience with a range of business across the Knutsford area.

Jack Phillips and Edward Stenhouse spent the week at Albis, which is based on Parkgate Industrial Estate. Jack spent time working with the health and safety team whilst Edward, a keen photographer, took corporate photos of all the employees.

Pauline Branigan, HR manager for Albis, said: “Jack and Edward settled into work experience immediately, helping with a number of tasks. They are both a real credit to the studio school and Knutsford Academy and we have enjoyed working with them both.”

Studio at Knutsford, which is based at Knutsford Academy, welcomed 130 students when it opened in September.

The studio school is working with a range of Knutsford businesses to help develop the students, from mentoring and delivering workshops through to work experience.

Headteacher Nicola Hall said: “Work experience is a really important part of our curriculum as we focus on our students understanding the world of work and we are delighted so many local businesses are supporting us.”
