THE recently-formed Knutsford Youth Orchestra will make its big debut at Knutsford Methodist Church next month.

Founded in September by professional musicians Kath Small, Hannah Sheldon and James Pearson, the orchestra have been busy practising behind the scenes for their first concert on Sunday November 16.

The concert, which will take place from 3pm, will include a selection of music from James Bond, Pirates of the Carribean and classical music such as Carmen’s Overture.

Kath Small said: “When we started we had no idea how many children would attended and we have been extremely delighted with the 30 children who have come together so well to make music. We are really looking forward to playing our first public concert together.”

Financial support has been obtained from Knutsford Town Council to enable new instruments to be purchased and a ‘Friends of Knutsford Youth Orchestra’ is being launched at the concert to help continue to provide funds for equipment, music and rehearsal space.

Tickets for the concert are priced at £2.50 per adult and children go free. To book, call 01565 621951 or email knutsfordyouthorchestra@yahoo.co.uk
