KNUTSFORD Rugby Club celebrated its 10th anniversary at The Belle Epoque this month with a very special guest.

New Zealand-born rugby legend Henry Paul attended the event on Friday, October 17 as guest speaker.

Born in New Zealand, Henry was a dual code rugby league and rugby union international. Previously representing New Zealand in rugby league and England in rugby union XV’s and 7’s, he once held the world record for the most consecutive kicks on the field.

Matthew Mooney, seaking after the event, said: “We were delighted that Knutsford Rugby Club chose to celebrate such a special anniversary with us.

"The venue has welcomed many sporting legends over the years, and Henry Paul will surely be one that stays in the memory following such an entertaining enlightenment in to his rugby career. I speak on behalf of the whole team here when I say a very happy birthday to Knutsford Rugby Club, and here’s to the next ten years."
