THE nights are getting longer, there is a noticeable nip in the air and Knutsfordians are bracing themselves for the colder months ahead.
As we grapple for our winter woollies and inch our chairs just that bit closer to the hearth, we thought to share this festive white wonderland from times gone by.
Mary Gracie, a volunteer at Knutsford Heritage Centre, spotted this postcard whilst scanning the stands of a recent postcard fair in Bolton.
The postcard, which is dated 1905, shows some men skating on Rostherne Mere, with Rostherne Church prominent in the background.
