A KNUTSFORD Pilates teacher, who had a brush with death after developing a life-threatening condition, will hold a fundraiser this weekend to thank the professionals who helped her get back on her feet.
Linda Marshall, owner of Parkgate-based Fit4Life, was admitted to the High Dependency Unit in Wythenshawe Hospital last summer after developing sepsis, a potentially fatal condition triggered by an infection in her leg.
The infection was caught just in time thanks to Linda’s eagle-eyed physiotherapist Cathie Stone, who immediately referred her to hospital when she spotted something was not right.
The 54-year-old was rushed into theatre for an emergency operation and she spent the next four weeks recovering in hospital.
More than a year has passed since the traumatic ordeal and to thank the team at Wythenshawe Hospital, Linda is holding a fundraising Open Day at her Fit4Life studio this Saturday, October 4.
Meditation, fitness and Pilates classes will be held throughout the day, as well as sports massage, a nail bar, and a talk by Cathie Stone.
"I was so close to death, and will always be grateful to the staff at Wythenshawe for their excellent care,” said the mum-of-three.
"This fundraising event is my way of giving something back I'd like to raise as much money as I can to help them buy much needed equipment."
