A DILAPIDATED park in Knutsford is once again picture perfect after undergoing a major revamp.
Shaw Heath play area, which had become a dumping ground for fly-tippers, has been transformed with the addition of new play equipment, landscaping and bold artwork.
The regeneration project was funded by Manchester Airport, Peaks and Plains and Great Places Housing Group and was supported by Cheshire East Council. Residents group Community Spirit helped raise the funds from the different partners.
The final touches were added by Year 6 pupils from Manor Park Primary School. The pupils worked alongside Sheffield-based artist Coralie Turpin to produce woodland themed artwork, which appears on the park’s railings.
Lucy Beesley, community development co-ordinator at Great Places Housing Group, said: “It’s great for the local children to get involved and take ownership of the park. It’s a lovely little area that is already very well used. I just want to thank everyone involved, as we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without the support of our partners.”
