KNUTSFORD businesses have until the end of September to enter the North East Cheshire Business Awards organised by the Macclesfield Chamber of Commerce.

Previously known as the Macclesfield & Wilmslow Business Awards, the awards have been renamed this year to reflect the area covered by the Chamber – which includes Knutsford.

Julie Tempest, of Knutsford-based Blue Barnacles Communications, attended the awards launch event at The Mere.

"Like many other businesses I hadn't been aware that the Macclesfield Chamber covered the whole of North East Cheshire - including Knutsford," she said.

"It was very interesting to find out about the Chamber's work and great networking opportunities which bring businesses together from across the region.

"The awards give businesses a great opportunity to have their successes recognised and create a real buzz about their work."

Sue Bowden of Macclesfield Chamber of Commerce, lead organiser, said the awards are dedicated to celebrating the success, talent and all that’s great about business in our area.

"The categories allow for companies of all sizes and all sectors to be considered for their outstanding achievement, innovation, leadership, creativity and more importantly, a positive contribution to the success of the local business community."

Main sponsors of the awards are Orbit Developments and NatWest. Three new Sponsors are involved this year, KAT UK, Plastic Card Services and Strategic Growth Solutions, and two new categories have been introduced - Excellence in Social Media and Best Company to Work For.
