KNUTSFORD Town Council is once again calling all children in the town to get festive and design a new Christmas Light motif for the town centre.

The best design, as judged by the town council events committee, will be produced as a new motif for 2014.

The competition is open to creativity with the only rules being that it cannot include text and should fit within a 14cm x 25cm rectangle, submitted on A4 paper.

Entrants, who should be aged between four and 11, should also remember it has to be made into a motif so should not be too complex.

“We are open to any ideas the children have for what would make a nice new festive motif in the Town Centre,” said town clerk Adam Keppel-Garner.

“It could be a traditional Christmas image, or something with a Knutsfordian twist.”

Entries are open until October 10 and should be submitted to Knutsford Town Council, Council Offices, Toft Road, Knutsford, WA16 6TA or via e-mail to adam.kg@knutsfordtowncouncil.gov.uk

They can also be submitted via the Knutsford primary schools.

The new light will be unveiled at the Christmas Light Switch on November 29 and the winner will be invited on stage to see their design switched on.

The winner and runners up will also receive gift vouchers to Stationery House.
