KNUTSFORD Hosts will be cheering on the Macmillan Cycletta Cheshire when it comes to Tatton Park on Sunday, September 28.

Organised to raise much needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, the Cycletta is also a great excuse for women to get together and have fun.

Macmillan Cycletta Cheshire caters for cyclists of all ages and abilities, and will feature Novice, Classic and Challenge distances.

Starting and finishing in the beautiful grounds of Tatton Park, the route for each distance takes in quiet, safe, well-managed roads. There will be treat stops en route and a pampering recovery centre at the end.

"It's great that Macmillan has approached our wonderful hosts to help support their fantastic fundraising Cycletta," said Sarah Flannery, hosts project manager.

"Of course everyone is welcome to cheer on the cyclists and give a boost to such a worthy cause as Macmillan serves the people of Knutsford so well."

Olympic champion Victoria Pendleton is supporting the Cycletta.

"I’m proud to have been a part of it since the very beginning and am delighted to see more and more women continue to take up cycling," she said.

Carla Kompany is backing the event and dusting off her own bike to join Team Macmillan. She took part in 2012.

The footballer’s wife and mum of two said: “I encourage all women to take part as Macmillan can really change an individual’s experience of cancer. As long as cancer exists they need our fundraising support.”
