KNUTSFORD Lions will have a presence at the Makers Market this Sunday encouraging the town to get behind its latest initiative.

There will be a Knutsford and District Lions Club stall at the Makers Market in the town centre on Sunday, September 7, from 10am until 4pm, where members will be promoting several of the services offered by the Lions, including a major contribution towards sight preservation.

The club wanted to concentrate on this as it is ‘World Sight Day’ on Thursday, October 9.

Peter Willgoose, president of Knutsford and District Lions, said: "Eye Health has been a major concern for Lions Clubs throughout the world for very many years and the Knutsford Club plays its part by collecting hundreds of unwanted spectacles each year and then sending them off for sorting and redistribution to third world counties.

"Many thanks to everyone supporting this very important cause."

Any unwanted spectacles can handed over on the day, so please check to see if you have any.

Alternatively, as many residents already know, they can be deposited at the Heritage Centre on King Street at any time.
