A FURTHER four organisations have been presented with a slice of the Knutsford Town Council’s boosted community grant budget.

The community grants, ranging from £200 to £1000, were agreed at the July meeting of the Finance Committee.

Successful bids were made by Canute Badminton Club, Friends of the Heath, The Knutsford Youth Orchestra and Knutsford Musical Theatre Company.

Knutsford Town Mayor Clr Neil Forbes said: “As a council we are proud to be able to support some of the community organisations within Knutsford, helping them complete the fantastic work they do for the benefit of all Knutsfordians.”

Canute Badminton Club received £210 towards the costs of mandatory training for their volunteer coaches, whilst the Friends of the Heath received £200 towards the cost of new information boards being installed later this year.

The Knutsford Youth Orchestra was presented with a £200 donation to help the group cover the room hire and other incidental costs to aid the group’s establishment.

The final grant of £1000 was presented to the Knutsford Musical Company to sponsor the sound and lighting equipment for their next production.

The Council Grant Scheme offers funding to bodies which enhance the lives of Knutsford residents and this year, the grants budget has been increased to £20,000.

A total of £14.340 has been awarded in community grants since the beginning of April, leaving the council’s finance committee £5,660 remaining budget.
