DUKE of Edinburgh award winner Fiona Hepworth did herself a huge service with some stellar GCSE results.

The 16-years-old King's School Macclesfield student from Mere got seven A*s and three A grades and will now study Spanish, Business Studies, Maths and Psychology in the King's Sixth Form.

Fiona said: “I really hope my education will one day enable me to travel the world.”

The King's School produced another set of record results with sharp rises across all key performance indicators. An impressive 32 per cent of all grades were at A*, up from 25 per cent last year; 65 per cent of all grades were at A*/A, up from 58 per cent last year’s and 87 per cent of grades A* to B up from 86 per cent.

King's School Headmaster Dr. Simon Hyde said: “The staff work hard to engage, encourage and enthuse all our students, but what makes a star performer is a touch of true grit. These young men and women have the determination to succeed and their families and local community should be very proud of them.”
