KNUTSFORD Academy GCSE students performed above the national average this year, despite concerns of a country-wide dip in core grades.
Over 70 percent of students achieved grades A* to C, and 46 percent gained A*-B grades, against the national statistic of 43 percent.
A total of 68 percent of candidates achieved 5A*-C, with 58 percent gaining 5 or more GCSEs including English and Maths.
The English results were particularly satisfying, as the grades were 12 percent above the national average - schools were preparing for a dramatic dip in GCSE grades in English this year.
The Maths results have retained their high level of performance in comparison to national averages.
Principal of Knutsford Academy Kevin Hollins said: ““We are delighted that our English and Maths results have continued to exceed National averages.
“We are particularly pleased that our level of achievement has increased in light of the National decline in grades.
“There were strong performances recorded in all of the EBAC subjects with outcomes significantly above National averages.
“I would like to congratulate all of our students on their achievements and wish them every success for the future.”
