OLLERTON-based Mid Cheshire Riding for the Disabled is saddling up for a new partnership with a Tarpoley pub.

The organisation, which caters for riders with a variety of disabilities, both physical and learning, has been chosen as the official charity for The Nag’s Head.

The pub is launching the first of its annual fundraising dinners in aid of the group, and to celebrate, Michelin-starred chef Nigel Haworth took a break from the kitchen to get together with riders from the organisation.

Star riders Archie Pilkington, 7, from Little Bollington, and Megan Wilkinson, 17, from Winsford trotted over to The Nag’s Head to introduce Nigel to horses Ted and Pip.

Nigel said: “It was great to meet Archie, Megan and the horses. We’re absolutely delighted to be working with the Mid Cheshire Riding for the Disabled Group.

“We went to see the organisation in action and were in no doubt that we wanted to support them.

“It is such a small charity but what they provide is huge – it’s very inspiring and I look forward to seeing how the cash that we raise for them can add to what they do.”

An Evening with Nigel Haworth and Cheshire’s Finest Producers will take place on September 18. Nigel and Chef Michael Emminson will be serving a bespoke three course dinner, and guests can look forward to a champagne reception, raffle and silent auction.

Tickets are priced at £35, with £10 donated to the Mid Cheshire Riding for the Disabled.
