MORE than 700 fundraisers pulled on their trainers for a charity twilight walk at Tatton Park earlier this month.
An estimated £60,000 was raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care through the charity’s Walk Ten event at Tatton Park on August 9.
Following the 10k walk there was music, fireworks and picnics throughout the evening to celebrate the work of the Marie Curie Nurses.
Liz Howlett, regional events manager for the North West, said: “A huge thanks to everyone from Cheshire for showing their support for Marie Curie at Tatton Park, it was a wonderful evening.
“The walk raised crucial funds that will help Marie Curie provide care and support for people with terminal illness and their families.”
One of Marie Curie’s very own nurses, Nichola Hayes-Roberts, took part in the event with her five-year-old son Louis.
“I am very proud to be one of the many Marie Curie nurses who cares for terminally ill patients, but most of all, I am one very proud mummy as my son completed the walk and raise much needed sponsorship money,” she said.
“Thank you to everyone who took part in the event and for making it a huge success.”
