THOSE seeking a taste of the country life should head to Tatton Park this bank holiday weekend.

The English Country weekend, which made its debut last year, returns to Home Farm from August 23-25.

During the weekend, skilled craftsmen, from bee keepers and dry stone wallers, will be demonstrating their art and giving visitors an insight in to their expert techniques.

Children will be able to have a go plate spinning or try the uni-cycle at a circus skills workshop and take part in traditional games, such as tug of war and the three legged race.

Other highlights include, musical displays from horses Tabitha and Blossom, sheep racing contests, and Morris dancing.

There will also be traditional stalls selling locally produced fayre from traders, including Chelford Deli and The Cheese Yard.

Farm Manager Jayne Chapman said: “We really wanted to bring back the nostalgic times of the country fayre and let the visitors sample the traditional crafts and food that are very close to our heart.

“We really feel this event offers something for everyone.”
