HOLMES Chapel MP Fiona Bruce has welcomed news that crime is falling in her constituency.
Latest figures from the independent Office for National Statistics show that since 2010 recorded crime in Cheshire has fallen by 16 percent.
The fall in crime is being attributed to an action plan set up by government, which involves freeing police to fight crime by cutting red tape and scrapping unnecessary targets, giving criminals tougher sentences, and making the police answer to the community.
Mrs Bruce said: “We’re making Britain an even safer place to live, work, and raise a family with our action plan to tackle crime.
“Recorded crime is down by 16 percent in Cheshire thanks to our plan and the hard work of police officers.
“Families are safer and more secure – and my constituency can enjoy a better, brighter future.”
