A KNUTSFORD pub has been completely refurbished after its owners admitted the amount of business it has had since it opened two years ago had left it ‘absolutely battered’.

Dave Mooney and Paul Newman opened the Old Sessions House in Canute Place in September 2012.

But the pub, under the pair’s New Moon Pub Company, shut for two days last week, reopening on Wednesday, July 16 after seeing a new kitchen installed, along with new chairs, tables, back bar and floor.

“We’ve been open two years in September and to be honest it has been absolutely battered,” Dave said.

“We’ve put a new kitchen in and new tables and new decor.

“It has been so busy and we have been totally overwhelmed by that so we needed to make a few changes. The feedback we’ve had so far has been fantastic.”

The pair have added the Linenhall Bar and Restaurant in Watergate, Chester this past week to their stable and Dave said the company was in discussions for three more sites in the north west.

“We’ve taken on all the staff and started training them up and they’ve all bought into our philosophy,” he said.

“We’ve put some investment in and they can see that we are serious.

“Plus Chester is a city we’ve been after for a long time.

“It’s great that a Knutsford based company isn’t just in the town and only circling its wagons locally.”
