TUG of war teams pulled in the pounds for East Cheshire Hospice at Chelford Village Hall at the weekend.
The charity event was hosted by Bosley Tug of War Club, and teams from around the country took part.
A few local teams also formed six-a-side squads to take part in a separate competition for those taking part in tug of war for the first time.
Teams flexed their muscles in different classes for men’s, ladies and youth teams, and Norton club from Staffordshire won five of the men’s weight classes.
Bosley finished as runner-up in the 620 kilos and 640 kilos competitions, and Lincoln and Holland clubs were runners-up in the other heavier weight classes.
The six-a-side charity contest was won by Macclesfield Young Farmers’ Club, with the Academy Ninjas finishing runner-up in a closely-fought final.
The event raised £200 for the hospice, and Bosley spokesman Alan Knott thanked everyone who came along to offer their support.
Thanks also went to Chelford Parish Council and its village hall committee for providing the venue, and Olympus Trophies and Bollington Brewing Company for supplying the prizes.
