SUNRISE Senior Living in Mobberley popped open the bubbly to celebrate National Care Home Open Day 2014.

The Hall Lane home was one of the thousands of UK care homes to open its doors to the public on June 20.

The aim of the event was to connect residents with their local communities and change negative perceptions of care homes.

On the day, guests were treated to champagne afternoon tea, singer Julie Roberts provided the musical entertainment, and Cheshire East Clr Jamie Macrae chatted to guests and residents.

Speaking after the event, John Harrison, director of community relations at Sunrise of Mobberley, said: “The entire day was a wonderful success and the weather couldn’t have been better. We would like to say a huge thank you to Julie and Jamie for attending our special day and celebrating with us.

“It was a real community event bringing everyone together, and it was so lovely to see all our guests and residents mingling with each other.

“National Care Home Open Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the brilliant work that care homes, including Sunrise, do every day. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.”
