KNUTSFORD is gearing up for this weekend’s Civic Sunday parade.

The parade will start from King Street car park at 10am, before making its way along King Street, Tatton Street, Canute Place, and Princess Street, before finishing at Knutsford Methodist Church, where the Civic Service will take place.

The parade will be led by the Royal Air Force 146 Northwich Squadron and Air Training Corps Band and the procession will include dignitaries and mayors from town and parish councils across Cheshire, as well as groups such as Knutsford District Scouts and Royal British Legion.

Knutsford Town Mayor Clr Neil Forbes said: “The Civic Sunday parade is one of the highlights of the mayoral calendar. Historically, this was an opportunity for the town to find out who their town was and welcome them to the role.

“Now, thanks to the newspapers, internet and social media, news of my appointment was circulated immediately, but it would be lovely from my point of view to see as many of the town as possible coming out to say hello and wish me well in my mayoral year.”
