A MOBBERLEY volunteer has been recognised by a national heart charity for her relentless dedication over the past 32 years.
Brenda Leech, pictured, of Town Lane, has been named winner of the British Heart Foundation’s Fundraising Volunteer of the Year Award and will be presented with the award at the charity’s annual luncheon next month.
Brenda’s early experiences with her son, Antony, who suffered from heart problems, inspired her to get involved with fundraising for the British Heart Foundation.
“I am delighted to have been given such a prestigious title as there are so many worthy volunteers who give their time to the BHF,” said Brenda, a founder member of the Knutsford BHF branch.
“I have made some wonderful friends and have so many lovely memories. I would encourage anyone to volunteer for the BHF as it is such a rewarding experience and you get to meet the most fantastic and inspiring people.”
Luke Mallet, regional head of community fundraising for West and Wales, said: “I am delighted that we can recognise Brenda’s commitment.”
