NOMINATIONS for the Knutsford Town Awards, organised by the town council and sponsored by the Forum of Private Business, have now closed. 

A total of 171 nomination forms were completed across the month-long nomination window and nominations were made at a number of sites, including the Welcome, the library, Booths and exhibition stands at the Lions Street Fair.

Events committee chairman Clr Tony Dean said: “The decision panel have been left with some tough decisions as the quality of the nominations has been fantastic.”

The new Youth Award received 11 nominations, whilst 61 people have been nominated for the Civic Award.  A total of 17 nominations were received for the Business Award and 20 for the Community Award.

“It shows how many people in our community are valued for the time they have given to the town and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to make a nomination,” added Clr Dean.

The decision panel are meeting this week to consider the nominations and the awards will be presented at the Town Awards ceremony on Civic Sunday, June 29.
