KNUTSFORD Flower Club is looking for donations of plants, flowers and foliage to create stunning displays and mark their anniversary year at Cheshire County Show.

The search is on for kind-hearted florists and gardeners to donate all sorts of varieties – whether they are exotic, garden or even jungle. It has been 45 years since the Flower Club first planted its roots in the town.

Chris Gibbons, spokesperson for Knutsford Flower Club, said: “We use 100 different types of flowers and foliage which are mainly supplied by the competitors themselves but we would be very grateful for any donations or sponsorship.

“One of the competition themes this year is ‘Anniversary’ which is very fitting for 2014 since Knutsford Flower Club is celebrating 45 years and Cheshire is marking 55 years.

“If you love flowers, please come along to our marquee at the Cheshire Show. We also hold meetings on the third Wednesday of every month at 2pm in Plumley Village Hall and we welcome new members and visitors.”

The Cheshire County Show 2014 will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 17 and 18.

Nigel Evans, executive director of the Cheshire County Show, said: “Visitors to our show can learn how to arrange flowers with a programme of demonstrations to learn how to enhance the home or business with beautiful floral designs.

“We have always supported the art of flower arranging with our marquee since the show began 176 years ago.”

The show will again include livestock, horses, poultry, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigeons, dogs, rare breeds, vintage machinery WI, Rural Life, Booths Cheese, and Wine.

Prices for advance tickets for the Cheshire County Show which have been held at last year’s prices are as follows: adult £15, senior citizen £12, concession £12 and child (over 5 years and under 16 years) £7.
