JAZZ-lovers will be flocking to Clonter Opera Theatre next weekend.

The Swettenham Heath venue will be hosting a Jazz in June event on June 7, which will be headlined by one of the country’s most sought after pianists James Pearson.

James has played concertos with the Philarmonia and the BBC Concert Orchestra and his performance of Rachmaninoff’s 2nd piano concerto was broadcast on Classic FM.

His performance of Gershwin’s Piano Concerto and Rhapsody in Blue was also broadcast on BBC Radio 2.

To celebrate the theatre’s 40th anniversary, James will be bringing along an old friend of Clonter’s, Tina May, and they will be joined by Alex Garnett on saxophone.

There will be a 70-minute supper interval at the show, and there are a number of dining options for guests.

Diners can enjoy all that is offered at the revamped Hancock Room, or for a more formal dining experience, opt for the Carmen Room.

For more traditional Clonter-style dining, visitors can choose the picnicking option and hampers and canapé baskets can be pre-ordered.

The event will also be accompanied by cocktail bar.

The performance will begin at 7pm.  Ticket prices start at £15 and student tickets are priced is £10.  Group bookings of 8 or more will receive a discount of 10pc.
