THE organisers of this year’s Goosfest, which takes place in October, have again secured a big name to headline the festival.

Hazel O'Connor, who is best known for her album Breaking Glass, will appear with saxophonist Clare Hirst and Sarah Fisher on keyboard.

She will perform on Sunday, October 12 at the end of Goosfest, which is now established as the principal village arts festival in the area.

Hazel will be supported by India Electric Company who will be performing at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

The duo of Cole Stacey and Joseph O'Keefe will perform their own unique brand of folk Roger Rushton, one of the organisers, said: “Hazel is an iconic figure in British modern music and the India Electric Company are an exciting duo and we are truly thrilled that they will form the climax of this year's Goosfest.”

The rest of the programme for this year’s Goosfest which takes place between October 3 and 12 is still being finalised but the organisers again promise something for everyone involving both professional and amateur acts across the full spectrum of the arts.

Tickets for the Hazel O'Connor concert, which takes place at Terra Nova School at 8pm on Sunday, October 12 are now available, price £20, from the on line Goosfest ticket office goosfest.com.
