THE Knutsford Beer Festival may feel like a distant memory but festival organisers had one last task to deal with before making plans for next year’s event.

Organisers pledged to split the profits from the event on May 4 and 5 at the Old Town Hall between the Knutsford and District Lions Club, Cheshire Search and Rescue and the Royal May Day Committee.

More than £3,500 was raised at the two-day event and representatives from the three chosen causes were presented with their portion on Friday May 16.

Knutsford Town Clr Andrew Malloy, who is also chairman of the festival’s committee, said: “The committee would like to thank each and every person who was involved in the festival, from the main sponsor to cask sponsors to the attendees and volunteers.

“We really could not have done it without the superb Knutsford community getting behind the event and making it the success it was.”

The Knutsford Lions and Cheshire Search and Rescue each received £1,250, which was raised through festival sponsorship. The Royal May Day Committee received a donation of £1040, which was raised through the sales of the special edition Tatton Brewery Crowning Glory ale.

The Beer Festival Committee has confirmed that the event will be coming back in 2015 and preparations are underway. To be the first to find out details of the 2015 Knutsford Beer festival, sign up to the mailing list.
