ASHLEY Rose Queen 2014 Grace Blockley took centre stage on Saturday at a popular garden fete.

Ashley Rose Queen and Garden Fete is held every year to raise funds for St Elizabeth’s Church in Ashley.

Reverend Georgina Watmore opened the event and announced each queen and their attendants as they paraded on to the stage.

Grace, 11, was crowned by the retiring queen, and Grace’s attendants were Grace Gilmore, nine and Elly Leigh, eight.

The fete featured a fancy dress competition, which was judged by Reverend Watmore and Reverend Libby Lane, and Cadishead Public Band entertained the crowds.

There was a range of stalls and sideshows, and villagers admired the cakes which had been made for The Great Ashley Bake Off competition.

There was a raffle to win an owl chainsaw carving, an animal farm and numerous games, and one of the most popular events was the dog show.
