AN Oxford schoolboy has been crowned ‘King’ of Knutsford’s Crowning Glory ‘Hunt for the Crowns’.
Peter Goodrich-Jones was named winner of the Heritage Centre’s May Day-themed family competition last week.
It was Peter’s third visit to the May Day but the seven-year-old often makes the trip up to Knutsford to visit his Granny and Grandad.
“There is nothing like the May Day where we live so we are always really excited to be there for the procession and the dancing afterwards,” he said.
“I enjoyed the hunt for the crowns, seeing all the interesting shop windows and visiting other shops including the sweet shop. We also visited the interesting exhibition of crowns in the museum and saw how they had changed over the years.”
Peter said he was ‘very excited’ to hear he was the winner of the competition and said he would like use his prize, Waterstones vouchers, to buy an animal encyclopaedia.
