EAST Cheshire NHS Trust has made a top hospitals list for the fourth year running.

The trust, which runs Knutsford Community Hospital, Macclesfield District General Hospital and Congleton War Memorial Hospital, was named one of the CHKS 40 Top Hospitals 2014.

The ‘40 Top’ award, which the trust has received every year since 2011, is one of several awards which form part of the Top Hospitals programme run by CHKS Ltd – a company which provides healthcare intelligence and quality improvement services.

The award is based on the evaluation of 22 key performance indicators covering safety, clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care.

John Wilbraham, chief executive of East Cheshire NHS Trust, said: “We’re delighted to receive this very significant award from CHKS once again.

“It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, not only those based in our hospital settings but many of those working throughout the wider trust.

"The award is an excellent endorsement of the services we provide and I hope we will be named in the top 40 list again next year.”
