FUNDRAISERS received ‘souper’ support at a recent Christian Aid event in Mobberley.
In support of Christian Aid Week, May 11-18, Saint Wilfrid Church and Mobberley Methodist Church teamed up to host a ‘Souper Lunch’ at the Rajar building on May 10.
Around 40-50 people popped along to lend their support and a total of £200 was raised for the charity. Christian Aid fundraising officer Bex Turner was on hand to give a talk and showed a film about the charity’s efforts in tackling global poverty.
Christian Aid Co-ordinator and event organiser Nick Eadie thanked Mobberley Village Bakery and Mobberley Co-Op for donating rolls and fair-trade tea and coffee.
Nick, a Mobberley resident, has set himself a target of raising £1000 for Christian Aid and will face the challenge of cycling 100 miles in the new London Ride 100 event later this year.
