HUNDREDS of people gathered under the stars and walked in memory of their loved ones last month.

Around 600 people turned out for East Cheshire Hospice’s Starlight Walk on April 25, and together pledged more than £50,000 to support the hospice’s work.

Events organiser Camilla Crockett said everyone at the hospice was overwhelmed by the support on the night.

“This is what the Starlight Walk is all about – families and friends, young and old, coming together to enjoy a fantastic night whilst helping to raise vital funds for East Cheshire Hospice,” she added.

More than 100 volunteers helped in the lead up to and at the event, helping to ensure everything ran smoothly.

“Our fundraisers really are the most loyal, dedicated and committed group of people and we are so grateful for all the continued support,” added Camilla.

“We really hope everyone enjoyed this year’s Starlight Walk, with a new route, venue and time, and additional activities, refreshments and entertainment. We are always looking to enhance and improve our events, so please let us know if you have any suggestions or fill in our online survey.”
