MARIE Curie fundraisers are offering thanks to Knutsfordians who helped make the charity’s recent appeal a great success.
Volunteer collectors and members of The Knutsford Marie Curie Cancer Care Fundraising Group were out in force throughout Knutsford in support of the charity’s flagship annual fundraiser - Great Daffodil Appeal.
The appeal collections raised an impressive £2,286, which will be used to help Marie Curie Nurses provide more free care to people with terminal illnesses in their homes.
Marie Curie community fundraiser Laura Tomlinson said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone in Knutsford who has supported Marie Curie and helped to make this year’s Great Daffodil Appeal such a big success – especially the amazing members of our Knutsford fundraising group.
“We simply could not continue to provide our important care without our army of dedicated volunteers and the seemingly un-ending generosity of the public.”
The Knutsford Marie Curie Cancer Care Fundraising Group’s chairman Chris Mackey also wanted to thank Sainsbury’s for their continued support.
She said: “On behalf of the fundraising group, I would like to thank Sainsbury’s for choosing us for their charity of the year and helping with fundraising – through their own events, they have raised in excess of £2,000 for Marie Curie.”
Around £15,000 has been raised by the group since it was established in May last year.
