HOLMES Chapel residents are being encouraged to bring a picnic and spend the afternoon at the revamped Dane Meadow next week.

The official opening of the meadow will take place on Sunday May 11 from 2pm and visitors can enjoy a host of activities including birds of prey, family quiz and nature trail.

The Mayor of Cheshire East Clr Dorothy Flude will officiate, and confirmed invitees include the Leader of Cheshire East Council Clr Michael Jones, Deputy Mayor Clr David Brown and Holmes Chapel MP Fiona Bruce.

The Programme Board Chairman Clr John Clowes said: “We are extremely grateful for the support of Cheshire East Council for professional support from the landscape architects, footpath officer, grounds maintenance teams and many more.

“By working together Holmes Chapel Partnership, Holmes Chapel Parish Council and Friends of the Dane Meadow have provided a community asset for many generations to enjoy.”
