CITIZENS Advice Bureau (CAB) will be able to help more Knutsfordians than ever before, thanks to a new town-centre outreach service.
Cheshire East CAB North has teamed up with the town council to create a new monthly outreach service, operating from the council offices from May.
The service will be in addition to the CAB’s existing sessions, which have been taking place at St Johns Wood Community Centre for several years.
Clr Julian Goodrich said: “It is great that we are able to pilot an outreach advice service in the centre of town which will complement the existing provision in Longridge.
“The CAB offers a fantastic amount of advice on such a variety of matters.”
The new drop-in advice session will take place on the second Tuesday of each month, from 10am to 12pm, at the council offices. Residents will be able to attend and speak with a trained adviser who will be able to offer advice on a range of matters including benefits, debt management and employment matters.
Jenny Haven, who will be the pilot service’s adviser, said: “We are also currently looking for people who might like to train to be advisers who could potentially help deliver the services in Knutsford.”
