KNUTSFORD residents and businesses are being encouraged to dine with the mayor in celebration of the upcoming 150th May Day.

Knutsford Town Council are organising a dinner at The Rose ‘n Crown Chophouse on Thursday May 1 in aid of the Mayor’s Charities – Knutsford Lions and Cheshire Search and Rescue.

The intimate event will include a raffle and auction, featuring prizes that businesses have donated to raise funds for the Mayor’s Charities, including a signed Manchester United Football, perfume, and a signed Bradley Wiggins photograph.

Town Mayor Barbara Coan said: “Given the importance of May Day to Knutsford, I thought it would be great to have an informal dinner to celebrate this event.

“In addition, it will be the last event I host as mayor and the final opportunity for me to raise further funds for my chosen charities before the new mayor is appointed on May 12.”

Guests will have the option of a two course dinner for £17.95 or three courses for £19.95. There will also be a ‘Restaurant Roulette’ where, for £20, guests can pick from 20 identical envelopes containing restaurant vouchers worth between £20 and £100.

For more information or to reserve tickets for the event, contact the mayor’s PA, Lisa Benskin, on 01565 653 929 or email lisa.benskin@knutsfordtowncouncil.gov.uk.

Early booking is advised as tickets are limited.
