FIVE friends who saddled up for this year’s Sport Relief raised an impressive £1056.04 for the cause.

James Woods, Tom Woods, Josh Dally, Kieran Holland and Ben Moser cycled 100 miles for the national campaign last month.

The year nine Knutsford Academy completed 12-mile laps just outside Knutsford several times until they reached their 100-mile goal.

14-year-old James said: “We found it a good task which took the life out of us but we finished. Some of us even had to play a football match in between.

“We want to say thanks to all the local shops in Knutsford, friends, family and our support team that carried bikes out to us in the due course of punctures and broken bikes.”

James and one of the other cyclists Kieran raised more than £1,000 for charity by completing a 25-mile cycle last year.
