THE first ever Knutsford Bunny Hop has been declared a ‘huge success’ by organisers.

Following the success of last year’s Pumpkin Path, Knutsford retailers rallied together to create a holiday event with a difference – the Bunny Hop.

Families wandered the streets on Saturday, April 19, as they went on a hunt for 18 hidden letters held by Knutsford’s very own bunny rabbits scattered around the town.

One of the organisers Stefanie Meachin, business development manager at Gusto Knutsford, told the Guardian the event was a big success.

“From 10am onwards the town was filled with families and their little ones hunting out the hidden bunnies and collecting treats on the way,” she said.

“272 entries were posted at the Knutsford Heritage Centre and the community spirit was in full swing.

“Gusto will always support any events that help to create a destination that keeps people retuning again and again.

“I’d like to thank everyone who took part in this event and to all the retailers, designers and volunteers that made it possible.”

Julia Chard, one of the organisers, raised more than £100 for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust with face painting available all day in Mr Simms olde sweet shop on King Street.

“I would like to thank all of our customers for their kind donations,” she said.

“I am delighted with the fantastic response to the bunny hop event. The community spirit once again was amazing.”

Bridget McCreery, from Knutsford Bloom on King Street, added: “After the success of the pumpkin path in October, we were delighted to sponsor this event which was a resounding success.

“Everyone involved should be proud of themselves for putting so much effort into making it a wonderful day.”
