THE Royal Voluntary Service set up a stall in Booths recently in a bid to recruit volunteers for a new service to support older people in the community.

A number of shoppers stopped by the stall on April 4 to find out more about the services that Royal Voluntary Service has to offer in the Knutsford area.

Service manager Jo Roberts and volunteer Nicky Green were on hand answer questions and let people know about the organisation’s Good Neighbours Scheme.

Jo said: “We successfully signed up a few lovely people who wish to volunteer to help local people which is fabulous.

“A big thank you to Booths for the opportunity to set up a stall in their lovely store.”

The Royal Voluntary Service are still looking for volunteers with an hour or two to spare each week to help older people returning from hospital.

“You may pop in for a chat, do a bit of shopping or catch up by telephone, making sure all is well,” added Jo.

“Each small gesture can make a big difference to someone who needs a little bit of help or company.”
