Younger generation to be recognised at Town Awards

KNUTSFORD Town Council’s Events Committee have introduced a new addition to the Town Awards – the Youth Award.

The new award follows the success of the 2013 awards events, which saw the presentation of three Civic Awards and Community and Business awards.

The Youth Award will be presented to an individual under the age of 18 who has made a contribution to the community of Knutsford.

Chairman of the Events Committee Clr Tony Dean said: “The sole purpose of the Towns Awards is to reward those who give their time to the community and the introduction of an award for young people is a natural addition to the three awards presented in 2013.”

Nominations for the Town Awards open on April 29 at the Annual Town Meeting and presentations will be made at a special ceremony on Civic Sunday.
