TV funnyman Jason Manford was in Knutsford this week to unveil a new look for one of the town’s charity shops.

Millington-based the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, invited along its patron Jason to officially open its new and improved charity shop in Canute Square on Thursday, April 10.

Stockport-based comedian Jason was only too happy to cut the ribbon for the Adventure Farm which he describes as ‘the loveliest of charities’.

The charity have had the shop in Canute Square for 15 years but charity bosses deemed it in need of a face-lift. After closing on Wednesday, February 19, the unit was completely gutted ready for the total refurbishment.

Both the interior and shop front have been transformed thanks to the support of Clarke Gough and Tunnicliffe Signs.

Jason popped along to the shop for it’s official opening en route to a gig in Crewe to meet the volunteers who work there, along with manager Sandra Eyes.

CAFT Chairman Nick Montague was also on hand to thank all of those involved in the refit as well as the volunteers who work tirelessly to raise funds for the charity.

Helen Crowther from CAFT said: “We’re so grateful to Jason for taking the time out of his busy schedule to officially open our lovely new shop. He’s such a fantastic patron who does everything he possibly can to support our work.

“This refurbishment is well overdue and a huge source of excitement for the staff and volunteers at the Adventure Farm.

"It’s really important that it represents our charity and the high standards we have for the children who visit us, it’s great that we will now be able to reflect this in the charity shop which is at the heart of the Knutsford community.

“The funds we raise through the shop are vital, and we are confident that this refurbishment will help us to increase our income and therefore help us to provide even more holidays to even more special children for many years to come.”
