BEXTON Pre-School’s annual Easter Egg Hunt proved an egg-cellent success at the weekend.

More than 40 families turned out for the event on Saturday afternoon, which is held every year to help raise money for the Bexton Lane nursery.

The hunt started at the pre-school’s entrance, where two to four-year-olds submitted their creative entries for the ‘best decorated hard-boiled egg’ competition and played ‘guess the number’ of chocolate eggs in the jar.

Half way around the route, participants stopped to rest at a base in Ashworth Park, where they feasted on hot dogs, homemade cakes and had their faces painted.

The pre-school is a non-profit making charity that relies on the support of parents and community. The event raised over £250, which will be spent on outdoor resources for the children.

Bexton Pre-School are now preparing for the next big hunt – but this one doesn’t involved eggs.

The school’s parent committee are on the hunt for a new pre-school nursery manager as the current manager, Janet Weston, will be leaving shortly after Easter.

The committee said that Janet has been a huge asset to the pre-school during her 11 years of service and will be missed by the children, staff and parents.
