Motorists urged to avoid M6 after three-vehicle collision

FIREFIGHTERS are at the scene of a three-vehicle collision on the M6 between Knutsford and Holmes Chapel.

Crews are currently setting up equipment to extricate a trapped casualty from one of the vehicles.

One fire engine from Knutsford, one from Stockton Heath and one from Holmes Chapel attended the incident at 1.08pm this afternoon, Tuesday, April 8.

This incident occured on the southbound carriageway. Two lanes are currently closed.

There is heavy congestion between Junction 18 and 19 and delays of around 50 minutes.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
