DELAMERE Dairy is celebrating success after scooping the Cheshire Exporter of the Year Award in the High Sheriff’s Awards for Enterprise.

The Knutsford-based business won the award for demonstrating significant growth in its international business and developing new market export opportunities as part of its business plan.

The company’s range of cows’ and goats’ milk products can be found on supermarket shelves across Europe, the Caribbean, New Zealand and Far East markets.

By the end of this year export business is expected to account for about 30 per cent of total sales.

Ed Salt, Delamere managing director, said: “Delamere Dairy is very proud to win the award.

“Two years ago we made a conscious decision to seek out export opportunities, and the award recognises the efforts all our staff have made to establish the many relationships in China and elsewhere, which are now resulting in orders.”

The award’s sponsor, UKTI, awarded £5,000 in match-funded prize money for the exploration of new markets and activities to promote the company’s speciality dairy products overseas.
