MORE than £50,000 was raised for a residential care home for disabled people at a champagne and canapes evening.
The fundraiser was held at Arley Hall, hosted by Lord and Lady Ashbrook, and featured live and silent auctions conducted by auctioneer Rick Dallimore from Meller Braggins.
The amount raised was far higher than expected, and will go to Hill House in Sandbach, Leonard Cheshire Disability’s residential care home for disabled people in Cheshire.
Hill House manager Annie Maddocks thanked Lord Ashbrook and all the other committee members for their efforts in organising “such a wonderful event.”
The money raised will enable Hill House to create a horticultural therapy centre.
